Composed by Stephen Goss and commissioned by the Patterson/Sutton Duo, “Still Life” for cello & guitar was nominated for a 2021 Ivor Novello Award for best Small Chamber Composition. The Ivor is considered the most prestigious award for new music in the United Kingdom.

2014 Guitar Foundation of America Convention

We were honored to give a lecture/recital on Steven Goss's Park of Idols at the 2014 GFA Convention in Fullerton, CA. It was so great to have Steve right there in the audience! The convention was packed with amazing concerts and interesting lectures. We were happy to contribute and to make many new friends along the way.

Afghanistan National Institute of Music

The Patterson/Sutton Duo was thrilled to be invited for a residency at the 4th Annual Winter Music Academy of the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) in January of 2014. We were honored to be there and it was a supremely inspiring experience. We spent our days giving private lessons, coaching ensembles, running orchestra sectionals and leading workshops. We also performed in guest artist concerts at ANIM and at the Canadian Embassy of Afghanistan. The students and faculty of ANIM, as well as the city of Kabul, left a lasting impression on us.
